Pekho: wear + wares is a haven for beautiful homewares, fresh flowers, accessories and owner, Buffy Murray’s womens’ wear label, also called Pekho. The clothing style is relaxed, using predominately natural fibre cloth and available in sizes 8 – 18. The label is 100% designed and made in Perth. The wares side of Pekho has grown from Buffy’s passion for mixing colour, texture and silhouette; the starting point for designing clothing, now the starting point for styling spaces too. Pekho is representation of her eclectic style: earthy, urban, authentic.
In July 2011, the first Pekho: wear + wares store opened in a small converted laundrette on Wray Avenue, Fremantle and in the following year moved two doors down into the larger premises it now calls home.
Buffy has been designing since 2001, when after finishing her studies at Central TAFE, she launched her first wholesale label i.sixseven, attracting both national and international accounts. In 2005, with a business partner, Buffy started the label and concept store(s) Mabu, her first foray into the design world of larger sizes fashion. After leaving Mabu in 2009, Buffy launched Fenton Clothing, a wholesale label which she rebranded to Pekho when the store opened in 2011.
